The Ryder Course is named in honor of Samuel Ryder, the namesake and founder of the Ryder Cup, the pre-eminent event in golf. With its rolling hills, majestic pine trees and challenging water hazards, the Ryder Course has a distinctive Carolina-feel. With various hole locations, you could play this course every day and discover a different layout.
Opened in 1996, The Ryder Course (formerly The North Course) at The PGA Golf Club has hosted the Callaway Golf Senior PGA Professional National Championship, the TaylorMade-adidas Golf PGA Assistant Professional Championship, the Special Olympics National Invitational Championship and the National Minority Collegiate Championship. A wide variety of holes, from long par-5s to sporty par-3s.
In 2005 and 2006, PGA Village St. Lucie The Ryder Course was awarded as The 50 Courses for Women by Golf for Women.
