Whitefish Lake Golf Club is the most requested golf destination in Montana and both courses have been consistently rated in the top five by Golf Digest. The Flathead Valley golf courses were ranked one of the TOP 50 Golf Destinations in the world. The 18-hole "South" course at the Whitefish Lake Golf Club facility in Whitefish, Montana features 6,563 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 71. The course rating is 70.8 and it has a slope rating of 119 on Blue grass. Designed by Keith Hellstrom, the South golf course opened in 1979.
Redesigned by John Steidel, the South Course was completed in 1994. The course sneaks towards Lost Coon Lake allowing spectacular scenery with an open view of Big Mountain.
The South Course was recently named one of the Top 5 courses in Montana by Golfweek Magazine (2012).
