Home to two outstanding 18 hole layouts, Wildcat Golf Club is the preferred golf club of Houston's professional sports teams and now it's also one of Texas Outside's Preferred Courses! Built on a landfill, the Lakes and Highlands courses both feature elevation changes of up to 100', spectacular panoramic views of Houston's downtown skyline, the Galleria, and the Reliant Stadium complex.
Tee up on #1 and you think, "What water?" Be patient. On the Lakes course you start high. Its highest elevations - up to 100 feet - provide breathtaking views of Houston's major sports complex - Reliant Stadium, home to the Houston Texans. As you work your way down you'll see the water - acres of seemingly countless lakes. The Lakes' dramatic elevation changes can be rivaled by no other course in Houston. Water comes into play on seven of the Lakes' magnificent holes. Playing 7,016 from the tips and par of 72, the Lakes is a bit longer than the Highlands.
The greens on Wildcat's Lakes Course are all shapes and sizes from oblong and narrow too small to about average size. They have plenty of slope, tiers, and swells, plus a lot are elevated making bump and runs tough. Most are also well guarded. They were in near perfect condition, rolled true and at a great speed (around 10), and held the ball well. The bunkers were also in near perfect condition with soft fluffy thick sand. They range in size from small deep pot bunkers to some huge multi-fingered monsters! The lips very in size and some are pretty steep.
